With a large participation from the Radio Branch employees, the Technical Affairs and Security Media Department, at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, concluded a specialized radio course, titled: "The Art of conducting a radio dialogue under work pressure”, at the Department’s headquarters.
 
Lt. Col. Khalid Al Shamsi, of the Security Media Department, stated that this specialized course embodies the goals and development plans of Abu Dhabi Police, in order to raise the efficiency of its human cadre and hone their functional skills, to enable them to keep up with development, and perform their duties optimally, and elevate them to the highest levels.

For his part, First Lieutenant Hamdan Al Dire, Head of Media Affairs, and Head of the Radio Branch explained that the course, which spanned over 5 days and over 30 hours of training, included 4 training modules. The first module tackled media components in terms of the concept and success factors of the media message and the basics of writing it; as well as the role of the security media message. The second module addressed the planning and conducting dialogue in radio programs, including talk shows, exercises, and improvisation in talk shows.

First Lieutenant Al Dire added that the third training module focused on the mechanisms of presenting and conducting dialogue, and also went on to tackle the art of forging the persona of the talk show host; the talk show host and the microphone, the talk show host and the camera, the sense of time; in addition to good preparation, which is the talk show host and dialogue program’s weapon. The fourth module touched on the skills of talk show hosts and their ability to master the art of speaking and listening.

For his part, Dr. Salah Eldin Mostafa, Head of Egyptian television, and coach of the practical part in the course, noted that the course is an applied translation of the topics included in the scientific content of the curriculum, in order to develop the skills of the members and assist them in providing a clear media message; under the pressures of time, event and place.

He added that good preparation, method of preparation and dealing with the talk show’s segments are the talk show host’s weapons; noting that practicing for improvisation, briefing and summarizing texts and news reports; as well as writing radio templates, is one of the necessary skills to hone the talk show host’s skills.

Moreover, Dr. Salah Eldin Mostafa praised the role of Abu Dhabi Police and the keenness of the police leadership to provide technical and engineering resources, such as the high-level radio studio at the Security Media Department, to enable the Radio Branch members to keep up with the latest techniques of radio broadcasting, and to hone their skills through specialized courses, in order to become a link between citizens, residents and police members, and interpret, explain and transfer the pulse of the street to the high-ranking officials.

At the end of the ceremony, certificates were distributed to the graduates; Lt. Colonel Khalid Al Shamsi presented Dr. Salah Eldin Mostafa with a commemorative shield.
