Security Inspection Department carries out 1180 tasks over 3 months
The Department of Security Inspection (K9) of ADP Directorate General of Security and Ports Affairs carried out 1180 tasks during the first quarter of this year at Abu Dhabi Emirate level. 76 of the Department personnel attended 9 local specialized training courses during the same period.
Major Hashim Al Sayid Al Hashimi, Deputy Director of the Department said "The tasks vary between inspection operations, security maintenance, participation in different events, visits to schools and detection of cases".
The breakdown of the tasks was: 467 tasks in Abu Dhabi, 441 tasks in Al Ain and 92 in the Western region and 180 tasks in Al Ghuwaifat Border Station. They included search for prohibited items, criminal cases, shows and visits. Abu Dhabi Section carried out 454 inspection operations for prohibited items, 10 for criminal cases, two introductory visits and one riot control operation.
Al Ain Section carried out 398 inspection operations, 13 riot control operations, 16 criminal cases, 6 detected cases, 4 visits and 4 participations in shows. In the Western Region 85 inspection operations, 6 riot control operations, one criminal case. In Al Ghuwaifat Border Station 180 operations were carried out.
The Department personnel participated in specialized training courses as part of abilities and skills development plan. The courses included search for prohibited items, riot control, assault dogs, explosives dogs and distinguish o smells.
