meals to road users in Abu Dhabi
HH Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, has instructed distribution of 35,000 Iftar meals to fasting motorists in Abu Dhabi Emirate at the time of Iftar. The distribution began on Wednesday, the first day of the Holy Month of Ramadan, in cooperation with the late Abdul Jaleel Al Faheem and family Endowment and Al Foua Dates Company in Al Sad.
Major General Mohammad bin Al Awadhi Al Minhali, Acting Director General of Policing Operations at ADP said "The initiative is being carried out for the third consecutive year by Abu Dhabi Police, in order to enhance the feeling of solidarity between community members, especially during Ramadan which is filled with a spiritual atmosphere and noble values"
"The Community Policing Department and Traffic Directorate at all ADP GHQ Police Stations, Peripheral Areas Police Directorate, Al Ain Police Directorate and the Western Region Police Directorate will participate in the implementation of the project, which include Iftar meals delivered to motorists who can not reach their homes at Iftar time", added Al Minhali.
In the same context, Tariq Al Fandi Al Shamsi, General Manger of the late Al Faheem and family Endowment said "The project of delivering the Iftar meal is one of the most important humanitarian initiatives in which the endowment participates with a view to enhancing good ties among the local community and highlighting the positive and cooperative role with government parties in philanthropic and humanitarian activities".
Al Shamsi lauded ADP GHQ efforts and Al Foua Dates Company for their great cooperation.
Saeed Salim Al Hamli (Engineer), General Manager of Al Foua Dates Company said "This charitable project is part of the Company keenness to strengthen relations with different agencies in the country and to reflect the Company's social participations. The Company donated (5 tones) of dates for the project last year".
