Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior met on Wednesday in his office, Judge Dr Hatem Fouad Aly, Head of the United Nations Office for Drugs and Crime in Abu Dhabi (UNODC).
His Highness was briefed on the Office’s role and its partnership with the relevant bodies at the Interior Ministry. The meeting also touched on a number of related topics, including the joint ventures with the Criminal Evidence Department at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ.
During the meeting, Dr Hatem Fouad Aly expressed his thanks and appreciation for HH, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior’s support for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
The meeting was attended by Major General Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Brigadier Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Director - General of the Headquarters Affairs at Abu Dhabi Police; Colonel Saud Al Saadi, Director of the Secretariat of His Highness, the Minister; Colonel Abdul Rahman Al Hammadi, Director of the ADP Forensics Department; and Asma Fakhri, expert at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
Another meeting was held between Colonel Abdul Rahman Al Hammadi, Director of the ADP Forensics Department, and Dr Hatem Fouad Aly, Head of the United Nations Office for Drugs and Crime in Abu Dhabi (UNODC). The meeting was attended by Colonel Hassan Al Hosni, Deputy Director of the Criminal Evidence Department; ColonelExpert Dr. Ahmed Jomaa Al-Haddad, Head of Document Examination Section ; Lt. Col Rashid Al Burkani, Head of the fires section; and a number of officers and experts. The meeting tackled means of cooperation and exchange of experiences between the two parties.
Moreover, Head of the United Nations Office for Drugs and Crime in Abu Dhabi (UNODC), the Office’s expert and attendance, watched a documentary highlighting the establishment and development of the Forensic Evidence Department. It shed light on the latest scientific techniques used, and the levels attained by the Department. They also watched a presentation on the Electronic Information Department at the Forensic Laboratory, the first of its kind in the Middle East; which converts the Department’s various procedures and technical tests to interconnected electronic systems. They also toured the Department’s various sections and reviewed the equipment, techniques and devices used in forensics.
