Saif bin Zayed calls for strategic partnership between
MoI and VGT
HH Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior has directed that the strategic partnership between the UAE, represented by the Ministry of Interior and the Virtual Global Taskforce (VGT), is to be promoted in areas of mutual interest. The United Arab Emirates has officially joined The Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP).
This statement was made when HH received at HH's Office Mike Villain, Federal Deputy Commander of Australian Police and Nil Cogan, Head of VGT and Assistant Commissioner of Australian Federal Police. Major General Nasser La Khreibani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of HH's Office, who has been tasked to draft an integrated project for child protection, was present during the audience.
HH welcomed the Australian delegation, and they exchanged views on a number of security and police topics and different areas of mutual interest. HH called for immediate action to implement initiatives and projects that achieve the role of the UAE as a leading regional center for child protection.
The Head of VGT welcomed the UAE as a member of the agency and he said "WE look forward to building this relationship with the support of all VGT members to ensure the continuation of cooperation in fighting child sex abuse online.
The Virtual Global Taskforce (VGT) is made up of police forces from around the world working together to fight online child abuse. VGT intends to establish effective international partnership of institutions working in the field of child protection against exploitation online.
Major Fayssal Mohammad al Shamari, Liaison Officer and media coordinator at VGT, was present also during the audience.
