Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, fulfilled the wish of the child Omeir Mohammed Al Falahi to become a police officer for one day and carry out the duties performed by real police officers.
In a kind gesture reflecting his humanitarian values, His Highness received the child, wearing the police uniform in the rank of Captain, as they exchanged military salute and had a talk with him.
The 5-year old child suffers from Thalassemia, a genetic disease, since birth. He was granted the opportunity to tour the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ premises. He went on tour with the traffic patrol on the streets of Abu Dhabi, where he booked a driver for a mock-up traffic violation.
The child, Al Falahi, expressed his happiness to have his wish of becoming a police officer fulfilled and to wear the police uniform. He was warmly greeted at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, in line with the police leadership’s vision and commitment to take care of children and youth.
Colonel Faisal Al Shuaibi, Director of Strategy and Performance Development Department at the General Secretariat of the Office of the His Highness Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, had met Al Falahi in his office at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ. He urged him to pursue academic attainment to achieve excellence in his life and studies in order to graduate successfully from the Police College, and fulfill his dream of enrolling in Abu Dhabi Police as a real officer.
Omeir Al Falahi toured the Strategy and Performance Development Department where he was briefed on its tasks and duties. He also met the employees and reviewed their various functions and achievements. At the end of the visit, Colonel Al Shuaibi presented the child with a commemorative gift.
Al Falahi also toured the operation rooms where he was briefed by one of the officers on the tasks of the Central Operations Department, and how notifications are received via the emergency number (999) and referred to the competent entities.
During his tour, Al Falahi had the opportunity to receive a false call about a traffic accident. After taking the caller’s name and address, the type of the notification, and after making sure that there are no injuries; he carried out the necessary procedures by dispatching the nearest patrol to the accident location. He also instructed the concerned entities to follow-up the notification.
