Brigadier Engineer Hussein Ahmad Al Harithi, Director of Traffic and Patrols at Abu Dhabi Police, said the Directorate has been able to achieve positive results to improve traffic safety indicators in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, over the past year (2011) compared to (2010).

The Directorate is implementing the best practices, through the awareness and operational efforts to avoid human and economic losses caused by traffic accidents and their harmful psychological consequence on the family and the society, apart from their damaging impacts on the public property, road infrastructure and public facilities, added while speaking at a ceremony where 50 officers and non-commissioned officers working at the Directorate have been honored.

Al Harithi referred to the attention given by the Directorate to implement the police strategy which aims at developing the practices of traffic and road safety department; to match the best global practices to support the vision of the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, and the vision of the Abu Dhabi Government in becoming one of the best five governments in the world.

 We hope, through working with partners, to attain vision zero, i.e.  adopting a target of zero for road traffic fatalities by 2030, he added.

He commended the sincere efforts made by the honorees including creative ideas which they have translated into practice to improve the service in accordance with best international practices and standards.

 He urged them to show excellence, maintain quality standards, and constantly improve their performance; to provide quality service and achieve customer satisfaction, thus becoming an exemplary for their colleagues.

 In conclusion, he reiterated the keenness of the Directorate to promote human relations among all employees.

Then he presented certificates to the honorees.
