Police Sports Association of the Ministry of the Interior announced the launch of the 30th edition annual police shooting tournament in Ras Al Khaimah in the period from 20 February until the first of next March with the participation of 11 teams.
The Association held a coordination meeting chaired by Colonel Abdulmalik Mohammed Jani, Director of the Police Sports Association, at the officers club, Ras Al Khaimah, in the presence of representatives of the teams, representing the police general headquarters and general directorates at the Ministry of the Interior.
The most prominent amendments approved by the Board have been discussed at the meeting.
According to Colonel Jani, the participants include the General Headquarters of Abu Dhabi Police, Dubai Police, Sharjah Police, Ras Al Khaimah Police, Ajman Police, Umm Al Quwain Police, the Fujairah Police, in addition to the Naturalization, Residence and Ports, the Command of the Special Security Forces, the General Command of Civil Defense and the Federal Police School.
He thanked the General Headquarters of the Ras Al Khaimah Police for hosting the tournament for the third year in a row, and for its efforts in providing the potential for the success of the tournament, pointing out that the Association pays considerable attention to shooting championships, because they help enhance proficiency and skills of police personnel.
He said that shooting championship includes several competitions, including the rifle and pistol shooting contests for men and women, shooting at discs, and “move and shoot” contest.
Training will be held at Alsoan Camp at Ras Al Khaimah for the participating teams before the beginning of the tournament.
Several working teams have been formed including the higher organizing committee, logistics and accommodation committee, jury committee, public relations and media committee, secretary and statistics committee, shooting range committee, security committee and medical committee.
