Mock drill to evacuate Etisalat building in Al Ain

 

Al Ain Police Directorate in collaboration with Etisalat Company, supporting forces and relevant government authorities carried out a successful drill to evacuate Etisalat building in Al Ain City, on Monday.

Colonel Hamad Ajlan al Amyami, Director of Al Ain Police Directorate stated that the drill was within MoI keenness to maintain community security and stability. The aim of the drill was to test manpower ability to coordinate and use advanced equipment in such scenarios.

Lt. Colonel Ali Yasir Al Aryani, Acting Director of Industrial Area Police Station and Operational Commander of the Drill said "The drill is triggered by a report to the Operations room about a fire erupted in one of Etisalat Company offices at the Industrial Area in Al Ain. The Civil Defence Department, Technical Rescue Teams and Rapid Reaction Team of the Emergency and Public Safety Section in Al Ain were notified to help in evacuation of the building. Traffic patrols blocked the roads leading to the site of fire to facilitate the task of rescue works".

Etisalat staff and Civil Defence personnel implemented the evacuation plan by use of microphones, alert devices and rescuing injured persons. Lt. Colonel Mohammad Ibrahim Al Amri, Head of Emergency and Public safety Section in Al Ain stated that a field hospital was made ready near the site to treat casualties.

After the dousing of the flames and ensuring that no body was inside the building, the CID team started looking for the causes of the fire. The Media and Public Relations Section set up a media Center to deal with media means.

Mr. Henry, Senior Officer in Charge of Health and safety at Etisalat Company lauded the success of the drill and thanked Al Ain Police for their efforts in the drill.
