The Ministry of Interior has launched a project of setting up a competence assessment center to train and enhance its employees in this field, in line with the best international practices.

The project was inaugurated at the Armed Forces Officers Club in Abu Dhabi by Colonel Obeid Hilal Al Darmaki, Colonel Obeid Hilal Al Darmaki, Director of Creative and leadership Development Center at the Secretariat-General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minster and Ministry of Interior, in presence of a number of police officers enrolled in the program and representatives of the partners.

“The project is one of the modern systems which come in line with the Ministry of Interior’s excellence and creativity – based strategy”, said Al Darmaki.
An agreement of cooperation was signed with the largest international consulting firms specialized in psycho-professional assessments in Britain for the implementation of the project.

The project will be implemented through a number of phases, in the first phase, a total of 15 police officers of various departments and sections of the Ministry of Interior will be selected to join a 3-month training course.
 
The best candidates will be eligible to obtain the psycho-professional assessments international driving license accredited by the British International Institute for Psychological Studies.

He stressed that it aims to clarify the concepts, theories, methodologies for assessing the psycho- professional capacities, and reviewing of the most important practices carried out by international companies in this area.

The implementation of these programs is supervised by a number of international and local consulting firms including Psytech International and the Arabian Assessment & Development Centre.

Participants will be trained on how to practically apply these systems in the workplace and how to link to systems currently in force; to develop the skills of the leaders of the Ministry of the Interior through development programs which will be designed based on the evaluation results, he continued.
