MoI adds ID number to Federal Traffic System files

The Traffic Coordinative Committee at the Ministry of Interior has approved the addition of Identity Card number to the files of the Federal Traffic System in its meeting headed by Brigadier Ghaith Hassan Al Zaabi, director general of Traffic Coordination at the Ministry of Interior, Chairman of the committee.

The move was meant to facilitate enquiring about the all traffic transactions through this system.

The meeting also reviewed a number of issues including the traffic safety campaigns and mechanism of their implementation across the UAE, proposals of appointing eye test centers for those applying for driving licenses, and a proposal of rewarding drivers who did not commit any violations in three months.

The committee has also discussed improving of road safety through launching the Decade of Action for Road Safety. It is a program adopted by the UN and supported by 60 counties worldwide in coordination with MENA Road Safety Partnership. It aims at diverting attention to deaths resulting from traffic accidents and how they could be prevented.
 
At the end of the meeting, a number of recommendations have been approved and will be submitted to the officials to take appropriate actions regarding them.
