The Ministry of Interior has honored the Emirati student Aisha Tariq Khalil, from the Petroleum Institute of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), whose project titled “Sulfur Production”, ranked first in the Emirati Innovator Exhibition and Forum. It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Interior is the strategic sponsor of this Exhibition, organized by Abu Dhabi Social Takaful Fund.
During a ceremony, held at his office, Major General Mohammed bin Al Awadhi Al Menhali, Director General of Human Resources, and Head of Quality and Excellence Team at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, handed over an appreciation certificate and a commemorative gift to the student, lauding her scientific achievement.
In parallel, Mr. Salem Al-Kathiri, Abu Dhabi Social Takaful Fund Chairman handed major General Al Awadhi a certificate of appreciation and esteem, as well as the Fund’s shield; in recognition of the Ministry of Interior and Abu Dhabi police’s support to the Fund’s initiatives.
Furthermore, Major General Al Awadhi listened to a briefing from the student about her project, which aims to produce eco-friendly plastic sulfur; free of side effects.
This new innovation will increase the value of sulfur produced from Emirati oil wells, and provide a new economic income to the State, given that the extraction of sulfur, which is considered as an oil impurity, is expensive and a low price element .
Al Awadhi noted that the student’s achievement is a new scientific addition, wishing her success in scientific researches that serve the homeland.
For her part, Aisha Tariq Khalil conveyed her deepest thanks and gratitude to the police leadership for its kind attention and support to Emirati citizens’ scientific innovations, so that the UAE can remain at the forefront of developed countries. Moreover, she stressed that this award will motivate her to redouble her efforts and determination to achieve further scientific research in the service of her homeland.
The ceremony was attended by Colonel Sultan Buataba Al Zaabi, Director of the Office of the Director General of Police Operations at Abu Dhabi Police, Mr. Salem Saeed Al-Kathiri, Abu Dhabi Social Takaful Fund Chairman, and Najla Al-Daham, Deputy General Manager of the Fund.
