The Ministry of Interior has stepped up its efforts to disseminate the Government Excellence System across the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs Sector.

Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Acting Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs, stressed the importance of promoting government excellence efforts across the sector, with the aim of upgrading police and security work and providing quality services to the public.

These remarks were made by Major General Al Khaili while attending a workshop organized by the Strategy and Performance Development Department at the Naturalization, Residency and Ports sector. The workshop, which was held in cooperation with the Directorate General of Strategy and Performance Development at the Ministry of Interior, took place at the headquarters of the Naturalization and Residency and Ports Affairs in Abu Dhabi and discussed the fourth generation of the government excellence system.

The workshop was attended Brigadier Mansour Ahmed Ben Hamouda, general coordinator of the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Sector; Brigadier Saeed Rakan Al Rashedi, Head of Naturalization Department; along with the directors general of Residency and Foreigners Affairs at the countrywide level, heads of departments, standards and excellence team leaders, as well as a large number of officers and female staff members from the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs.

Colonel Dr. Abdullah Abdurrahman, General Supervisor for the Strategy and Performance Development at the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs Sector, emphasized the important aspects of the Ministry of Interior’s participation through its various sectors in the next edition of the Government Excellence Award. “It is a new challenge to be tackled by the ministry, as it strives to obtain additional Excellence Awards,” added Colonel Dr. Abdurrahman.

For his part, Major Salem Al Ameri from the Organizational Excellence department at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Interior, briefed attendees on the previous and new organizational excellence system, and highlighted the difference between the previous and new excellence standards. He also shed light on the previous and new categories included in the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Government Excellence Award.

Expert Zakaria Sulaiman Nuseirat, and excellence advisor Saleh Ahmed Abubakar, tackled the fourth generation of the government excellence system; the new categories of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Government Excellence Award; the award’s criteria, conditions of participation in each of the award’s categories, and the award’s methods of evaluation.

The attendees were also acquainted with the different categories of the Prime Minister’s medals 2014- 2015 and the key amendments and additions made to the categories of these medals.

Towards the end of the workshop, the floor was opened for discussion; the organizational excellence team answered the audience’s questions and queries.
