Posts Technologies and Systems
A delegation from MoI has participated in the Executive Forum for Smart Border Posts Technologies and Systems which was held recently in London City, UK. The Forum was organized by IBM Company with the participation of a group of experts and specialists from public and private sectors from all participating countries.
MoI participation in the form comes within the framework of the Ministry’s strategic plan implementation, with a view to make use of modern technologies in order to develop performance and to deliver distinguished and quality services. It also aims to review the latest technologies, experiences and practices of the participating countries in advanced electronic links between several authorities by use of Biometric prints and developed electronic systems, including the follow up of travelers through border outlets and customs clearance procedures.
Major Yasser Mohammad Al Wahabi, Director of Electronic Infrastructure Department at MoI Directorate General of Electronic Services and Telecommunications and member of the visiting delegation said “The delegation members’ direct communication with experts and specialists from the participating countries is fruitful and has positive results. They have acquainted themselves with the latest techniques, technologies and strategies applied in theses countries, especially in information analysis and exchange, and electronic link between border outlets which contributes effectively to detection of loopholes, points of weakness, confronting security challenges and enhancing security at the level of the participating countries through electronic link”.
The delegation comprised Lt. Colonel Barakat Yaaqoub Al Kindi, Head of Systems Development Section at ADP Department of Information Technology, Lt. Colonel Mattar Ali Kharbash, Head of Electronic Services Section at the Directorate General of Residency and Foreigners’ Affairs in Abu Dhabi, Major Mohammad Saeed Al Miqbali, Director of Programmes and Electronic Systems and Captain Hamid Obeid Al Zaabi, Head of Information Security and Telecommunications Section at the Department of Electronic Audit and Information Security of MoI Directorate General of Electronic Services and Telecommunications.
