Ministry of Interior honor policeman for his heroic role in fire fighting
Major General Khalifa Harib Al Kheili, MoI Assistant Undersecretary for Resources and Support Services, honored at his office on Monday the Policeman Khalid Abdullah Al Sayaari, from Sass Al Nakheel Police Station in appreciation to his heroic act in putting out a fire which erupted in a vehicle on Abu Dhabi – Dubai Road.
The Assistant Undersecretary presented a token gift and a certificate of appreciation to the honored policeman, affirming MoI keenness to honor personnel who carry out acts of bravery to rescue victims from incidents dangers, which require quick and careful response. He said "This heroic initiative sets an example of securing and saving lives and properties without endangering one's life. It is a joint responsibility if the initiator feels his qualified to interfere to assist in such situations"
In respect of the incident Al Sayaari said "While I was on my way from Sharjah airport on Saturday 12th June to Abu Dhabi, and near Al Shahama town I saw a parked vehicle on the side of the road in flames. Immediately I stopped my car and put out the flames with my car extinguisher. Then I called some passers by who stopped to give help, and called the Operations Room which mobilized those concerned to deal with the situation".
"My reaction was not an exceptional one, but it was a matter of duty, affirming that police personnel always put themselves on standby to save others and to sacrifice their lives for others and to reciprocate the country favors and kindnesses. Working for the police force is a great honor. Every member of the police force should be aware of his role in maintaining the country security and stability", added Al Sayaari.
"Police personnel's are always keen to carryout their duties with courage and without fear of danger, whether during working hours or other times. They are well prepared to respond to duty and to sacrifice their lives for their country", added Al Sayaari.
