Ministry of Interior discusses efforts of electrical energy rationalization awareness
Ministry of Interior has discussed in a meeting held recently awareness efforts to rationalize electrical energy in MoI and its Institutions at the country level. The meeting has urged all employees at different departments to participate in rationalization programme as the basic elements of the programme.
Lt. Colonel Harib Khamis Mugheer al Kheeli, Chairman of Electrical Energy Rationalization Project Committee reviewed the most important features of the Project which was triggered by ADP GHQ, responsibilities of the Committee and its work mechanisms. He mentioned the good results achieved by ADP, Police Directorates, their Departments and Sections since the implementation of the mechanism on 8 November 2009.
He urged officers and directors to brief their staff on how to rationalize energy and implementation mechanisms through formation of working teams, explanation of positive aspects of rationalization and wrong practices which lead to negative consumption of energy.
The meeting stressed the importance of cooperation of all concerned, in order to spread rationalization culture among employees at different MoI departments and its affiliated authorities. Also employees are to be made aware of the importance of ideal use of energy resources without affecting working environment and productivity. The life span of electrical equipment should be prolonged. The meeting reviewed the guidelines and educational instructions required to implement energy rationalization mechanism at MoI and commitment to reduce energy consumption rates.
During the meeting MoI Department of Public Relations presented its contribution to the project represented in a booklet titled “Switch off Unnecessary Electrical Equipments – Rationalization of Electrical Energy“, in collaboration and coordination with the Committee. The booklet includes rationalization methodology, classification of police work according to energy costs, responsibilities of coordinators in the Sub-committees, work mechanism and implementation procedures, in addition to focusing on the morale side among MoI employees.
The meeting was attended by coordinating officers and NCOs at different HGs and Directorates general at the country level.
