The Strategy and Performance Development General Directorate at the Ministry of Interior organized on Thursday morning the fourth workshop to discuss the 2014-2016 Strategic Plan Update for the Punitive and Reformatory Establishments. The plan update is part of the Ministry of Interior’s comprehensive strategic development program and is aligned with the Federal Government’s requirements.

The workshop, held at the Westin Abu Dhabi Golf Resort & Spa, was attended by Brigadier General Hamad Adil Al Shamsi, Director General of Punitive and Reformatory Establishments; a number of General Directors and Department Directors, along with Colonel Aziz Hamoud Al Amri, Director of Strategy and Performance Development Department, Heads of Divisions, and Strategy Officers.

Colonel Aziz Al Amri gave a presentation on the Ministry’s Strategic Plan Update, which is in line with the Federal Government's strategies, and serves the process of development and updating measures launched by the Ministry in 2010; the updated strategy will serve as the 2014-2016 plan.

Al Amri presented examples of the strategic goals and topics that workshop participants will review and identify for the Punitive and reformatory Establishments. Additionally, they will review internal and external environmental analysis and strategic cases, and what has been achieved during the previous workshops.

Moreover, Major Nihal Abdul Rahman, Head of Institutional Performance Measuring Department, gave a detailed presentation on the practical exercises to be undertaken to determine the strategic objectives that the Punitive and reformatory Establishments implement to achieve the Ministry of Interior’s objectives.

For his part, Major Ali Ghanem Al Tawil, Director of the Strategy and Performance Development Director General’s Office also gave a detailed explanation showcasing the exercise to determine and adopt the strategic performance indicators related to these topics.

Captain Said Saleh Al Junaibi, Head of Partnership Department at the Strategy and Performance Development Directorate explained the exercise related to the strategic analysis in order to identify strategic cases.

The participants in the workshop then carried out practical exercises, to identify the strategic objective topics and performance indicators for the Punitive and reformatory Establishments for 2014-2016, and standardize the output of strategic analysis at the Resources and Support Services level.
