Meeting of Police Athletics Championship
Police Sport Association (PSA) held the technical meeting for the representatives of the teams participating in the 19th Athletics Championship which will take place at the Dubai Police Club between 24-26 January. The regulatory issues and preparations have been discussed in the meeting. The representatives have also been briefed on the Championship’s regulations and schedule, and the numbers of the police teams taking part in the sportive event.
The meeting was chaired by Col. Abdulmalik Jani, Director of Police Sport Association Department, and attended by Lt. Col. Abdullah Hassan Al Badi, Director of Sport Affairs Department in Dubai Police, Lt. Col. Aref Ali Al Rais, Head of the P.S.A Sport Activities and the representatives of the participating teams.
Seven teams take part in this Championship, including Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, Dubai Police, Al Fugairah Police General Directorate, Civil Defence General Directorate, and Assistant Undersecretary for Naturalization, Residency and Ports, Special Security Forces and the Federal Police School, according to Colonel Jani.
The Championship includes triple jump, shot put, running for 800, 5000, 100, 200, and 400 meter, in addition to discus throw, long jump, and javelin throw, he pointed out, confirming that deadline for players registration will be Tuesday 18th January.
He thanked Dubai Police for hosting the Championship, and providing everything to make it a success, stressing that the participating teams are well prepared to gain good results and records.
For his part, Lt. Col. Abdullah Hassan Al Badi, Director of Sport Affairs Department in Dubai Police said that the preparations are ongoing will to host this event which essentially aims at creating an atmosphere of fair competition among contestants from the different police teams across UAE.
