Major General Khalil Dawood Badran, Director General of Finance and Services at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters inaugurated the “Abu Dhabi Vision 2012” traditional exhibition on Monday morning. The exhibition is organized by the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters at Terminal 1 in the Abu Dhabi International Airport. The exhibition spans over three weeks and is held in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC).

Major General Badran reaffirmed Abu Dhabi Police’s assurance to introduce the UAE’s quintessential heritage to employees and UAE visitors arriving at the Abu Dhabi International Airport. There are thousands of passengers who pass daily, and they are of all ages and nationalities. The UAE heritage is very significant for its multiple dimensions, colors and meanings.  The exhibition also showcases the values, objectives, mission, and vision of the Abu Dhabi Police, as well as its development and current rapid pace to keep up with the growth in the country.

He praised the idea of the exhibition and its heritage articles. He pointed out that organizing the exhibition is part of the Abu Dhabi Police’s strategy to shed light on the civilized image of the state’s heritage.

Engineer Ahmed Mohammed Al Haddabi, Chief Operations Officer at ADAC, praised the exhibition’s inauguration that highlights the diligent efforts of the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters to serve and protect society.

He further added that hosting this exhibition at the Abu Dhabi International Airport gives UAE visitors an exciting and different experience with each visit, hoping that this initiative would provide them with the opportunity to get to know the UAE’s history.

At the end of the inauguration festivities, Major General Badran and Al Haddabi exchanged memorial shields, and then surveyed all of the exhibition’s booths; they were accompanied by ADAC officials. Major General Badran and his escorts looked at the articles showcased, and heard a presentation about the displays by Colonel Saif Saeed Al Shamsi, General Supervisor of the booth.  

The articles give a historical overview of the establishment and development of the Abu Dhabi Police since 1957 to the present. Among the items showcased were: a 1966 Jeep; wired and wireless devices; male and female police uniforms; and musicians and knights costumes as well as old and new publications issued by the Abu Dhabi Police, and different posters and pictures depicting the development phases over a quarter of a century. The exhibition also includes rare photos of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the late Sheikh Mubarak bin Muhammad Al Nahyan, who were the first Ministers of Interior after the union of the emirates; images of other national figures were also displayed.

The inauguration was attended by Mohammed Al Kathiri, Deputy Executive Director of Quality Management at ADAC; Hareb Ghanem Al Hameli, Vice President for Airport Operations; Colonel Khamis Musbeh Al Marar, Acting Director of Borders and Airports Affairs at Abu Dhabi Police; Colonel Aref Saif Al Shamsi, Director of Clubs and Sport Activities Department; and a number of officials from the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters.
