Khaldiyah Mall evacuated in a mock drill
ADP GHQ, represented by Al Khaldiyah Police Station of the Capital Police Directorate has successfully completed this morning (Wednesday) a practical drill to evacuate ‘Al Khaldiyah Mall Center”. The drill was attended by Major General Salim Mohammad l Mazroui, Director General of MoI Central Operations and Chairman of Internal Security Exercises Assessment for 2010 Committee.
Colonel Ibrahim Al Hinai, Director of Al Khaldiyah Police Station said “The almost two-hour exercise has achieved its desired goals. The theme of the drill is an evacuation operation for a mock incident. A number of ADP Departments have participated in the drill. These include Traffic and Patrols, CID, Emergency and public safety, Civil Defence, Forensic Evidence, Crime Scene, Police Dogs, Special tasks, Q7, Air Wing, Security Information, Security Media and Mobile Operations Room”.
“All drill stages have been executed according to the drill scenario and planned duration. The last stage was restoration of normal situation, completion of the task, review of the situation and performance for final assessment of the training operation. The participating teams have, within the limits of their jurisdiction, searched the Center, evacuated shoppers and staff, looking for the fire causes and any other forensic evidences.
Al Hinai has lauded the public cooperation which confirm their understanding of the importance of such drills which raise the preparedness of police elements and training on making security plans and scenarios, how to manage disasters and incidents and how to control them. The drill also has shown ADP abilities and capabilities to have control over different security incidents with high professionalism. He has appreciated Al Khaldiyah Mall Center management cooperation with police efforts to save lives and properties.
Mr. Privin C. Y., Assistant General Manager of Al Khaldiyah Mall has appreciated ADP efforts and keenness to provide utmost security and safety means for all community members. The Drill is a good opportunity for the Mall Staff to gain knowledge and experience in dealing with similar security and safety situations.
