Abu Dhabi Police have developed applications of 19 e-services for the iPhone mobile users, according to Colonel Barakat Yaqoub Al Kendi, head of Systems Development Division at the Information Technology and Communication Department of Abu Dhabi Police.

The new e-services include inquiry of traffic violations, data of registered vehicles, and data of traffic file, calling operation room through the phone or text messages by persons with disabilities.

They also include traffic notices services, defining geographical sites, and police stations locations, important police contacts and other services.

These Arabic and English language support iPhone applications are intended to reach the members of the public, thus realizing the vision of the government of Abu Dhabi and enhancing the level of performance in such a way that improve services, said Al Kendi.

The systems contains four main categories: various communication channels that enable the public to remain communicated with Abu Dhabi Police, a package of multi media such as news, photos, and information about the system, and inquiry about the traffic violations, said Lt. Ahmed Al Marzouqi, director of the project.

The public may communicate with Abu Dhabi Police through Facebook and YouTube link which contains the latest video files, advertisements and awareness messages, he noted.

Utilizing iPhone features, we launched a new communication method which we called Al Marsad, means “observer”. Members of the public can use it to send a photo together with the details of the incident to be reported, Al Marzouqi added.
