The UAE Women's Police Association organized a ceremony to honor 17 distinguished mothers in the military; still working with the police force or retired, from across the Emirates. The honoring comes in recognition of their distinguished commitment to the police institution, and their dedication in the service of the homeland and family. The honoring included eight categories, namely; retired women; women with disabilities; women with outstanding long service; the oldest physician; the oldest trainer; the oldest nurse; the oldest employee; and the distinguished mother.
The honoring also included Dr. Sheikha Saif Al Shamsi, Director General of the Arab Women's Organization, in recognition of her tireless efforts to support women’s work, and for attaining the position of Director General of the Arab Women's Organization.
In her address at the ceremony, held at the Capital Police theater, Captain Amina Mohammed Khamis, Chairwoman of the UAE Women's Police Association, and Regional Director for Women Police in the Middle East region, indicated that women working in the police institution have contributed significantly to progress and construction, proving unwavering dedication in the service of their country, through the various areas of police work. “We should not also forget women’s distinguished role in caring for their families and their children; as well as their keenness to help them achieve excellence; in line with their mission to raise distinguished generations and build the country,” she added.
Captain Amina Mohammed Khamis expressed her sincere thanks to the police leadership for providing support for women, to enable them to achieve excellence and creativity. She stressed that this honor is a tribute to all mothers working in the police force, noting that each police mother working hard is definitely a distinguished mother in her family and with her children.
For her part, Doha Al Shehhi emphasized that this honoring represents an incentive for women working in the police force to achieve further excellence. Furthermore, she added that the various initiatives of the UAE Women's Police Association in the support of women police officers prove that countries are built thanks to the efforts of its citizens, and that efforts and hard work are highly appreciated by superiors. Concluding, she expressed her thanks to the UAE Women's Police Association for this kind gesture, which makes every distinguished military mother proud and happy.
At the end of the ceremony, Captain Amina Mohammed Khamis, Chairwoman of the UAE Women's Police Association, and Regional Director for Women Police in the Middle East region distributed appreciation shields and gifts to the honored mothers.
The honorees were as follows: Dr. Sheikha Saif Al Shamsi, Director General of the Arab Women's Organization, represented by Lt Colonel Maryam Khalifa Al Shamsi; Lt. Colonel Fatima Khalifa Al Shamesi and Lt. Colonel Maryam Khalifa Al Shamsi in the retired police officers category; Lt. Colonel Fatima Ali Al Sawaya and Sergeant Dalal Mohammed Al Chaqra, in the outstanding long service category; Major Maryam Al Naqbi, in the oldest physician category; police officer Sharmila Khalifa Ali, in the oldest police women trainer category; Maryam Abdul Rahman Al Marzouqi, in the women with disabilities category; Zainab Ahmed, in the oldest nurse category.
In the Distinguished mother category, Major Zubayda Jassem Mohammed, Captain Shamsa Al Rawahi (senior administrative), Major Jamila Khalifa Al Zaabi (administrative); and Doha Al Shehhi, from the Ministry of Interior, in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
