A total of 44 members from the Ports Security Institute in Abu Dhabi graduated after completing 3 courses on “airports security supervisors”, “command, control and strategy planning course (level 5)”, and an “English course”. These courses aim to develop the skills and capabilities of the participants in various areas of police and security work; to keep pace with the development witnessed by the various departments and continue achieving the objectives and vision of Abu Dhabi Police in promoting security and stability witnessed by society.
Colonel Abdullah bin Saeed Hattab, Director of the Ports Security Institute in Abu Dhabi Police, attended the graduation ceremony of 33 personnel who completed the two courses of “airports security supervisors”, “control, command and strategy developing course” over one week.
Hattab stressed the keenness of the Institute to implement the strategy of Abu Dhabi Police in accordance with a scientific approach to support training plans, to promote the development efforts of police work. He added that raising the efficiency of police personnel and honing their skills will enable them to carry out their duties efficiently, and provide them with the foundations of further developments in police training.
He explained that the Institute regularly organizes such courses in order to develop the abilities of Abu Dhabi Police recruits in several fields with the aim to promote the role of Abu Dhabi Police and its objectives, as per our vision to ensure that the Emirate remains a secure and safe society by elevating the level of performance in these courses organized by the Institute.
Finally, Hattab called on the graduates to continue their education and training which constitute the requirements of efficiency and quality of work. He also urged them to apply the knowledge they acquired through these courses in their daily tasks, to promote excellence in all our police procedures and services.
For her part, Lt. Colonel Naima Salem Awad, Director of the Training Department at the Institute, stated that the “airports security supervisors” course, attended by 23 members, enhanced the participants’ skills in supervising the implementation of preventive procedures, in addition to supervising the process of inspection and detection of passengers’ luggage as per the required procedures. It also developed their capabilities in terms of communicating with the other security bodies at the airport and other specialized agencies and airport authorities, as well as other types of training that refine their skills to promote police work.
She added that the “command, control and strategy planning course (level 5) led by the Explosives Ordnance Disposal division, was attended by 10 members. It aimed to qualify the leaders in terms of the chemical, biological, radioactive and nuclear risks. It also focused on developing strategic plans to control disasters and crisis, in addition to identifying the effects of weather conditions on chemical risks, and implementing control and command process to control radioactive incidents.
Another 11 non-commissioned officers and constables graduated from the Ports and Airports Security Department after attending an English language course that lasted two weeks. The participants were acquainted with the specialized terminology commonly used in the field of aviation and airports, and the practical applications of conversation in English especially in the field of inspection.
At the end of the graduation ceremony, certificates were distributed on the graduates, in the presence of a number of officers and officials from the Ports and Airports Security Department.
