As part of the UAE 41st National Day celebrations, the Abu Dhabi Journalists Association organized a friendly football match between the Security Media Department team and the Journalists Association team.
On this occasion, Mohammed Yusuf, Chairman of the Journalists Association, congratulated His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE; his brother His Highness Sheikh Muhammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; their Highnesses Supreme Council Members, rulers of the Emirates; their Highnesses Crown Princes and people of UAE.
He stated that the National Day celebrations are very significant, which prompted the Association to organize this friendly match which aims to reaffirm its role and presence on such precious national occasions; by celebrating them with the public and all media personnel operating in the state.
He emphasized that the Association was always keen to sponsor all community-oriented events and activities, in line with the firm belief in the significant role of all sports in general, and of football in particular. He also pointed out that this match reflects the Journalists Association’s keenness to enhance community participation with the various sectors and media institutions working in the state.
The teams’ players wore flannel shirts bearing the words “Unified House”; a slogan launched by H.H Lieutenant General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on this glorious occasion for citizens and residents of this precious homeland.
The match, which was held on Monday evening at the Fahim School stadium in Abu Dhabi, ended by a 4-2 victory of the Security Media team.
The first half ended with a tie of 2-2 for both teams. Ahmed Abou Chehab and Shadi Kassem scored the two goals for the Journalists Association team; while Captain Hamdan Al Dire and team’s best scorer Mohamed Kmaiss Al Kaabi scored the two goals for the Security Media Department team.
As the second half started, the Security Media team players showed significant skill. Players Hamdan Al Dire and Saeed Salem al-Saadi, scored the two winning goals of the game, which ended with a score of 4-2 in favor of the Security Media team.
