Emirates Rescue ands Search Team graduates 20 national trainees
Emirates Rescue and Search Team of ADP has celebrated the graduation of 20 national trainees, 5 of them are officers, after completing a training course titled "Qualifying Trainers in Search and Rescue Areas".
Lt. Colonel Mohammad Abdul Jaleel Al Anssari, Head of Emirates Search and Rescue Team Section at ADP Department of Emergency and Public safety, said "The aim of this course is increase the number of team members and to promote training and qualification level so as to be able to deal with tasks at local and world level".
"The training was started with the Singaporean Civil Defence, after the signing of MOU between ADP GHQ and the Singaporean Civil Defence last March. They were trained in how to prepare lessons and deliver them as a trainer specialized in search and rescue areas, how to prepare field exercises, how to use ropes in rescue operations, how to act when buildings roofs cave in, how to deal with heavy plants in a professional way", added Al Anssari.
The training course duration was from 28 October to 16 December 2010 at "Shileila Area" in Abu Dhabi and was divided into two morning and evening periods with a view to simulate different timings and weather conditions, dark nights and low lighting, so that trainee would be well prepared to deal with such circumstances.
