Emirates Identity Authority (EIDA) is to open a new registration center next to the Preventive Medicine Center in Al Muhaisana in Dubai. The trial launch is scheduled for mid-March, and the estimated capacity will be 3000 people per day.

The authority stated that with the opening of the new center –designed to be the largest center attached to the Preventive Medicine Center in the UAE- 29 centers attached to the Preventive Medicine Center will be functional. This comes in line with the project aiming at linking the residency procedures with registration in the population record, and with ID Cards procedures.

The opening will increase the total daily registration capacity in population record and ID Cards in Dubai to 13500 people, through 6 centers attached to the Preventive Medicine Center, located in: Al Baraha, Knowledge Village, Al Satwa, Al Quoz, and Jafza, in addition to Al Muhaisana. The total capacities of these centers exceed 6000people per day. Besides, there are three permanent registration centers in: Al Barsha, Al Rashidiyah, and Al Karama with a total capacity of 7500 people per day.

The Authority urged the residents of Dubai and Abu Dhabi to register for a new ID card and renew their expired ones, and refrain from waiting till the expiry of the given time, taking into consideration that the expiry date for registration in Abu Dhabi is on April 1st 2012 and in Dubai on June 1st 2012.

The Authority noted that filling the registration form at a typing office or online will prevent the applicant from paying late date fees, providing that the applicant has completed other procedures (finger prints, and photo).

The authority valued the efforts of the Ministry of Interior represented by the General Directorate of Residence and Foreigners Affairs, Ministry of Health, and Dubai Health Authority, in order to complete the project of linking ID registration procedures with residency and preventive medicine procedures in Dubai.

As per the applied procedures, the applicant is required to fill the registration form at an authorized typing office or online, then undergo the medical test at a preventive medicine center which will be determined as per their residency. Applicants then will have to go the registration office of the ID center attached to Preventive Medicine Center to complete the registration process (finger prints, Photo) with no pre-appointment. The ID card will be delivered only after the residency permit is issued by concerned authority.

Filling the form at the typing office requires the applicant to present his original passport, and a document affirming the unified Number (the old Residency Permit, or the Entry Visa). The registration center will ask the applicant to present the original passport and the ID registration application.
