A delegation from the Ministry of Interior, led by Major General Nasser bin Al Awadi Al Menhali, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Naturalization Residency and Ports Affairs began an official three-day visit to the Federal Republic of Germany.

During the visit, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Naturalization Residency and Ports discussed with Major General Frans Hemrik, Director, General Department of the German Federal Police affairs at the German Ministry of Interior, ways to enhance cooperation and a number of issues of mutual interest between the Ministries of Interior in the UAE and the Federal Republic of Germany, particularly issues related to the functions of Naturalization Residency and Ports Affairs Department.

Major General Al Minhali and his entourage were briefed by the Director of the General Department of the German Federal Police Affairs, on the organizational structure of the German Ministry of Interior, and the position of the Federal Police Headquarters within this structure, as well as the tasks and functions undertaken by Frans Hemrik at the Ministry; as a link between the Ministry and Federal Police General Command.

Major General Al Minhali and his delegation visited the German Parliament building "Bundestag", one of the most important landmarks of the city of Berlin, and a witness to the long history of historical shifts witnessed by Germany.

The delegation members also visited the Federal printing press, where they were briefed through a presentation on its role and functions in printing currency, passports and identity cards, not only for the German Government but also for many other countries in the world.

Moreover, during their tour at the printing press building, Al Minhali and the accompanying delegation reviewed the electronic ID card production process, using the most modern and advanced high-tech equipment worldwide.

The delegation also watched a presentation on the new version of the passport data reading device, and how to detect forgeries.
