Crimes drop by 25 per cent in Al Ain in the first half of this year
Colonel Hamad Ajlan Al Amyami, Director of Al Ain Police Directorate has affirmed that criminal offences have seen remarkable drop in Al Ain during the first six months of the current year, compared to the same period last year.
Criminal offences have dropped by 25% during the first six months this year - 2035 offences in comparison with 2725 crimes during the same period last year.
Serious crimes have seen also remarkable drop by 16%, - 272 crimes during the first six months of this year compared to 324 crimes in the same period last year.
Criminal offence can includes crimes in general, but serious crimes include murder, rape, theft, drugs, arson, car thefts, burglaries, human trafficking and prostitution.
Al Amyami has affirmed that this drop in crime in Al Ain is due to the vision and strategy of police Higher Leadership to make the UAE an oasis of safety and security and the safest country in the world by controlling and reducing the numbers of crime every year.
Al Amyami also believes that this drop in crimes is due to the great efforts made by Al Ain Police Directorate and other Police Stations under its Command, to maintain security and stability and to implement best global practices in terms of delivering security and social services, spreading security awareness among the public and enhancing partnership with the community members, public and private institutions.
Al Ain Police Directorate has focused its efforts on reducing serious crime due to their serious impact on the community. It also has activated the role of the community policing in raising security awareness among citizens and residents at residential areas
Al Amyami has called for joint cooperation of all community segments, public and private institutions.
