Community patrols to fight beggary in Al Ain
“Culture Bureau” warns the public against beggary
As part of the campaign being carried out by the Security Media Department on the risks of beggars and on collection of efforts to combat this phenomenon, the Law Respect Culture Bureau warned the members of the community about the fraudulent schemes the beggars resort to in order to attract their sympathy during the month of Ramadan.
Lt. Colonel Dr. Salah Obeid Al Ghoul urged the public to cooperate with the teams formed by the police to combat this phenomenon and report any beggary case and not showing sympathy with such persons.
“Beggary is not a rooted practice in the UAE society, it distorts the civilized image of the country which is based on social solidarity”, said Al Ghoul.
On the other hand, the Community Police Department has deployed patrols in Al Ain to fight and curb beggary which grows during Ramadan.
Captain Fadhil Mousa Al Kaabi, head of Community Police Section in Al Ain, said that the patrols have been deployed in the residential areas, shopping centers, mosques, and Arab and foreign communities’ centers, in order to maintain communication with the community members and offer tips on how to deal with beggary.
