Change of Traffic Signal Work on Al Khaleej al Arabi Road
The Department of traffic and Patrols at Abu Dhabi Police has announced that the working system of traffic signals on Al Khaleej al Arabi Road will be changed with effect from tomorrow morning, 21 December 2009. The Change will cover the areas from (The Intersection of Al Khaleej al Arabi and Al Saada Road) to the (Intersection of Al Khaleej Al Arabi and Zayed the First Road).
According to Colonel (Engineer) Hussain Ahmed Al Harthi, Director of Traffic Engineering and Road Safety, Traffic and Patrols Department at Abu Dhabi Police, the change has been introduced after studying and analyzing the traffic volume to and from Al Khaleej al Arabi road. The aim of the change is to ensure smooth traffic flow in the city. According to the new system, the green signal will be open first for vehicles going ahead, and then it will be open for vehicles going to the left.
An integrated plan has been made to organize intensive traffic campaigns on the above intersections with effect from tomorrow on Al Khaleej al Arabi Road, in addition to other intersections to book any violators. A fine amounting to Dh 200 will slapped on offenders, in addition to two traffic points against the offender. Jumping the red signal will entail vehicle seizure for 15 days and Dh800 fine, and 8 traffic points.
