The Residency and Foreigners Affairs Directorate General in Ajman established a tent at its main building, based in Jaraf Region in the Emirate of Ajman. The tent, equipped with the necessary human and technical cadres, will receive violators of Law of Entry and Residence of Foreigners, during morning and afternoon periods, wishing to complete departure transactions, according to simple procedures.
Brigadier Mohammed Abdullah Alwan, Director General of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Ajman, called on violators to take advantage of the two-month amnesty declared by the Ministry, between December 4th, 2012 and February 4th, 2013. He indicated that, according to the amnesty scheme, all fines will be waived and penalties will be dropped for violators who apply to leave the state voluntarily.
He pointed out that the call center is ready to receive violators’ inquiries regarding the amnesty on the number (8005111). Moreover, he noted that a media campaign will be launched in several languages before the specified amnesty in various media; to encourage offenders to go to designated centers to regularize their statuses and obtain out passes within the specified time limit.
He emphasized the need for violators to take advantage of this amnesty. After that period, any violator of the Law of Entry and Residence of Foreigners will face legal accountability. He called on the public to contribute in reducing the illegal residence scourge by reporting violators’ and their whereabouts, by calling the toll free number of “Sahim” service (80080), in support of the “No To violators” campaign, launched by Ministry of Interior.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Interior distributed on Friday, 30 thousand awareness bulletins in ten different languages, for citizens and residents, in front of the state’s mosques after Friday prayers, and in industrial areas and markets. Through the bulletins, the Ministry urged the public to contribute to achieve the objectives of the “No To violators” campaign. It warned them against hiring violators of the Law of Entry and Residence of Foreigners under any pretext. It also called on them to cooperate with concerned police departments, by reporting violators and their whereabouts, to avoid any potential risks, and to protect security and stability in society.
In the awareness bulletins, the Ministry called on individuals, to help curb the violators’ phenomenon and to cooperate with institutions and concerned authorities in the state to achieve the objectives of the “No To violators” campaign. The campaign, organized by Ministry of Interior, is supervised by the Residency Violators and Foreigners Follow-up Department, at the Assistant Undersecretary’s office for Naturalization, Residency and Foreigners Affairs.
