Deputy Commander-General of Abu Dhabi Police Major General Obeid Al Hiri Al Kutbi, presented cups to winners in the Road Race Open Championship organized by Abu Dhabi Police on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of UAE national day under the theme of “ spirit of the union”.
Al Kutbi took part in the race held Sunday morning at the Abu Dhabi Corniche and said: the activities and events organized by the Abu Dhabi Police according to the directives of Lt. General H.H Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minster and Minster of Interior promote the already strong relationship between the community and police, and demonstrate cohesion, reflecting the spirit of the union.
The race motivates personnel to practice sports, he pointed out, stressing keenness on participating in all sport races which help enhance physical activity and health.
The top three places for children category went to Nimaz Mohammed Shaher, Osama Najah and Dayzan Abdurrahman, respectively.
Ahmed Darwish, Mohammed Al Hassani and Jassem Abbas, won the top three places for adults category.
Over 100 children from Al Fajr and Al Manhal two private schools in Abu Dhabi, and around 200 personnel of Abu Dhabi Police have participated in the race.
Director of Clubs and sport Activities department of Abu Dhabi Police, Colonel Airf al Shamesi, thanked the Abu Dhabi Educational Zone for support and response.
