Major General Staff Obeid Al Hiri Salem Kutbi, Deputy Commander General of Abu Dhabi Police, attended the graduation ceremony held in honor of 25 personnel who completed a week long post-blast investigation course held in coordination with the FBI, at the premises of Abu Dhabi Police, in the presence of general directors, a delegation from the U.S. Embassy and a number of officers.

Lt. Col. Khalid Al-Shehhi, Head of post-blast investigation team said in a speech during the ceremony that a committee was formed from technical specialist agencies to develop a time plan to train police technical personnel; to establish the nucleus of the national team at the countrywide level.

Many of the achievements have been made since the start of the project, he noted. A number of personnel representing several departments including Forensics Evidence, Security Inspection and Crime Scene have been defined to activate the team. Moreover, visits have been made to competent agencies in the United States and other countries, to take advantage of their expertise.

The required training plan for the team has also been approved.

Lieutenant Khalifa Al Felaiti, head of training at the Department of Weapons and Explosives said that the plan for preparation of the team was based on four basic training courses, followed by an advanced course which will be held in the United States this year. Then, instructors will receive special post- blast investigation training.

In order to create highly qualified Emirati teams,  as many as 100 personnel representing the police and Ministry of Interior agencies have been trained so far, and lectures have also been held for the benefit of the Comprehensive Police Stations (CPS) investigation officers and prosecutors on methods of dealing with the explosion scene, he added,

At the conclusion the ceremony, Major General Obeid Al Kutbi handed over graduation certificates to the trainees, awarded appreciation certificates to the instructors, and exchanged trophies with the U.S. Embassy delegation.
