The Tourism Police Department at the Police Operations Department in Abu Dhabi Police provides security and guidance services, to ensure protection and tranquility to tourists and visitors to the beaches and various touristic sites in the Emirates of Abu Dhabi, celebrating the Eid Al-Adha Holiday.
Lt. Colonel Muzeed Fahd Al Uteibi, Head of Tourism Police Department, stated that the United Arab Emirates prides itself with the security and safety it provides for all its citizens and residents, due to the attention of higher leadership. This is reflected in the rapidly growing cultural and urban development, making it a favored touristic destination for many tourists, who are attracted by its numerous touristic landmarks, particularly during holidays.
He added that the Tourism Police Department is distributing brochures, in 12 different languages, in order to reach the largest possible segment of public wherever they are. The brochure contains rules and regulations against violations, to spread awareness among foreigners. He pointed out that the brochure also includes the toll free emergency number via AMAN service 8002626 to be used in emergency cases.
He noted that the Department is working with the various police sectors to develop an integrated mechanism of action consistent with the nature of police work. These sectors include the Capital Police Directorate and its Police stations; the Community Police Department; the Criminal Investigation Department; the Central Operations Room and the Emergency and Public Safety Department at the Central Operations General Department of Abu Dhabi Police.
Al Uteibi praised the cooperation with partners from governmental and private sectors in order to enhance services, such as the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority and Abu Dhabi Municipality. This measure contributes in enhancing the level of services provided to the public.
