Abu Dhabi Police signs agreement with RAND
Abu Dhabi Police GHQ signed here today a cooperation agreement with RAND American Corporation concerning delivery of consultancy services to develop the Center for Research and Security Studies (CRSS).
Under this agreement, the CRSS will become one of the prominent public policy institutions on the regional and global levels in the field of preparing political, economic and social researches and conducting innovative and effective policy analysis.
The agreement was signed by Major-General Khalil Dawood Badran, Director- General of Finance and Services of Abu Dhabi Police and Dr. Haneen Salim, director of RAND office in Abu Dhabi.
Major General Badran indicated that the two parties have agreed to implement the project in three phases. First phase is the strategic phase where the CRSS vision and message, and its major performance indicators will be set up. The second one is the tactical phase where it will be focused on setting up rules and guiding principles which meet the CRSS’s strategic approach and supports Abu Dhabi Police to utilize high quality research body. The third phase of the project is the action phase and it is dedicated to develop the task force at the Center, and setting up plans for research projects in collaboration between RAND and the Research and Security Studies Center.
Dr. Haneen expressed the RAND happiness at the cooperation with Abu Dhabi Police, stressing that she will put her expertise at the service of Abu Dhabi Police.
Establishing modern policies research centers is very important as they play essential role in providing decision makers with accurate information and facts so that they are able to take correct decisions, thus minimizing errors, said Dr. Haneen.
Signing ceremony was attended by Colonel Faisal Sultan Al Shu’aibi, director of Strategy and Performance Development of Abu Dhabi Police, Lt. Colonel Dr. Salah Al Ghoul, director of Law Respect Culture Bureau, Lt. Colonel Dr. Ahmed Ali Al Khuzaimi, Head of CRSS Scientific Coordination, Major Abdullah Al Kaabi, and CRSS acting director.
From the RAND Corporation, ceremony was attended by Keith Crane director of the Environment, Energy, and Economic Development program at the RAND Corporation and Ahmed Baghdadi, a researcher in policy sciences.
