Quicker access and response to accidents and other emergencies in secluded or hard-to-reach areas, such as farms, camping sites and other wild areas that are inaccessible to regular police vehicles, is now ensured, thanks to the launch of new off-road motorcycle patrols by Abu Dhabi Police.
The launch of the new patrol service is part of continuous development and innovation involving all police departments in the emirate, said Major General Mohammed Khalfan Al Rumaithi, Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police, in a statement.
With a wider and more effective range of patrolling, the initiative will enhance police presence, security as well as the general public's confidence in the performance of police, Al Rumaithi said.
The high mobility off-road motorcycle are all equipped with fire extinguishers, state-of-the-art location and communication systems, vehicle-towing and tyre inflating techniques that enhance police's ability to offer help, search and rescue and ambulance services to those in need as well as help prevent crime, Major-General Maktoum Al Sharifi, director-general of Abu Dhabi Police, said.
