Abu Dhabi Police fulfilled the dream of 14-year-old child, Hamad Ahmed Alkachouri, from the Abu Dhabi Center for the care and Rehabilitation of people with special needs, the Zayed Higher Organization for Humanitarian Care, to become a police officer for one day. He wore the police uniform in the rank of Captain, and carried out the duties performed by police officers.

The “Captain” Hamad Ahmed Alkachouri toured the premises of the Security Media Department, at the General Secretariat of His Highness Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior, and got acquainted with the work mechanism in its different sections and branches. He went on tour with the traffic patrol on the streets of Abu Dhabi, where he booked a driver for a traffic violation.

Lieutenant colonel Saeed Al Khaja, Vice Head of Technical Affairs and Security Media Department, welcomed the child Hamad, wearing his police uniform in the rank of Captain, and accompanied by Wadad Hamad Al Mubarak, manager of the activities branch at the center. Al Khaja urged the child to excel in his life and studies, to be a role model for his colleagues, and presented him with a commemorative gift and an Ipad.

The child went on a tour in a traffic patrol car with First Lieutenant Salem Ibrahim Al Hammadi and Corporal Mohammed Saleh al-Hassani, from the Traffic and Patrols Directorate. They toured the streets of the city of Abu Dhabi, and stopped a car in violation of the traffic law, by using the wireless radio. He asked the driver for his driving license and vehicle license, explaining to him the type of violation committed, and the need to comply with the traffic safety instructions. Then he issued a “fake” traffic ticket for driving without a seat belt.

Hamad also visited the Crime Scene Department, where he was greeted by Captain Adel Ahmed Al Masabi manager of the Personnel Branch. Sergeant Bushra Hassan, crime scene investigator, accompanied Hamad on a tour; where he was briefed on the equipment used and listened to a detailed explanation on the role of the crime scene experts in finding criminals. He also visited a “fake” robbery scene and processed the location (taking photographs, collecting evidence and crime tools, lifting fingerprints and footprints of the perpetrator).

The child, Hamad, expressed his happiness to have his wish fulfilled. For her part, Wadad Al Mubarak expressed her thanks to the police leadership, for fulfilling Hamad’s wish, lauding its support for humanitarian initiatives.

It is noteworthy that Abu Dhabi Police GHQ is keen to fulfill the dream of children with special cases, where it granted the wish of five children: Khalifa Jadid Al Shehhi; Abdullah Ali Saeed Al Ghaferi; Mustafa Al Badri; Faisal Abdullah and Nayef Tariq Al Khamis to become police officers for one day.
