Two teams of Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters received the certificate of the Japanese Continuous Improvement Method (Kaizen) in two categories namely: 1- investigations in major accidents, at the Traffic and Patrol Directorate; 2- receiving, classification, recoding reported cases, identifying and directing resources, and incidents management, at the operations department in the Central Operations Department. This award marks Abu Dhabi Police as the first Arab Police Force to receive this accreditation.
Major General Muhammed bin Al Awadi Al Menhali, Director General of Human Resources, and Chief of Quality and Excellence Team, received the certificates from Jour Singh, Director of Asian Institution for Comprehensive Quality Management. The institution has earlier performed assessment visits to several projects, and issued the certificates that are attested by the Accrediting Certifying Bodies (ASCB) in the UK.
Major General Al Awadi presented the investigations in major accidents certificate to Brigadier Eng. Hussein Ahmed Al Harthi, Director of Traffic and Patrol Directorate, and the receiving, classification, recoding reported cases, identifying and directing resources, and incidents management certificate to Lt. Colonel Nasser Suleiman Al Maskari, Acting Director of the Operations Department.
He also presented a Gratitude Certificate to the Traffic and Patrols Directorate team, received by Colonel Khamis Is’haq Deputy Director of the Directorate, in addition to anther certificate that was presented to the Operations Department team, received by Captain Muhammad Hassan Al Obaidali, Head of Strategic Planning Department in the Central Operations Department. Captain Rashid Abdullah Al Dusary, Head of Corporate Excellence Department at the Strategy and Performance Development, received a Certificate of Gratitude for the technical support team.
Human Resources Director General valued the efforts of the two teams, and urged them to continue their excellence to develop their work and performance.
He said: “this effort comes as a continuation of the success and development achieved by the Abu Dhabi General Headquarters, and in implementation of its vision and mission,” noting that in line of enhancement efforts in developing operations and services, modern international scientific methods were implemented, hence, the quality and excellence team adopted the Japanese continues enhancement method (Kaizen).
He mentioned that the Kaizen method is easy to implement, and it promotes operations in a way that adds value to clients, activates the capabilities and potentials of workers, and enhances the work environment as per the quality and excellence principles applied, which eventually leads to reducing wastes and costs.
Brigadier Eng. Hussein Ahmed Al Harthi, expressed his happiness and pride in receiving the Kaizen certificate, stressing that the police leadership is keen to achieve excellence at work in all fields, and create a working environment that catalyzes workers to be creative. He also mentioned the positive impacts of implementing the Japanese method on work, organization, simplifying, and easing the procedures for clients.
He noted that the Traffic and Patrols Directorate will work on implementing this proven experiment in all other departments to enhance the police work.
