Abu Dhabi Police fulfilled the dream of two children, Faisal Abdullah (8 years old) and Nayef Tariq Al Khamis (10 years old), to become police officers for one day. They wore the police uniform in the rank of Captain, and carried out the duties performed by police officers.

The two “Captains”, Faisal and Nayef toured the premises of Abu Dhabi Police GHQ. They went on tour with the traffic patrol on the streets of Abu Dhabi, where they booked two drivers for a traffic violation.

Major General Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, welcomed the two kids “Faisal and Nayef”. He urged them to excel in their life and studies; to be role models for their colleagues. Moreover, he presented them commemorative, in the presence of Colonel Faisal Sultan Al Shuaibi, Director of Strategy and Performance Development in Abu Dhabi Police GHQ.

Colonel Faisal Sultan Al Shuaibi, Director of Strategy and Performance Development in Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, had met in his office, the two kids (Faisal and Nayef), wearing the police uniform in the rank of captain,  accompanied by their parents. He urged them to excel in their studies until graduating from the Police College, in order to fulfill their dream of enrolling in Abu Dhabi Police and becoming officers.

The two children toured the operations room at the Directorate General of Central Operations, where they were greeted by Lt. Colonel Nasser Al Maskari, Director of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police, with a number of officers. They explained to the two children the duties and functions of the Department, how to receive notifications via the emergency number (999), and refer them to the competent entities.

In addition, the two children had the opportunity to receive a “false” call to the Operations Room about a traffic accident. After taking the name and address of the caller, the type of the notification, and making sure that there are no injuries, they carried out the necessary procedures by dispatching the nearest patrol to the scene of the accident, and delegated the concerned parties to follow-up the notification.

The two children went on a tour in a traffic patrol car with Lieutenant Sultan Hamad Al Ameri, in the streets of Abu Dhabi, where they stopped two cars violating the traffic law, by using the wireless radio. They also asked both drivers for their driving license and vehicle license, explaining to them the type of violation committed and the need to comply with the traffic safety instructions. Then, they issued two “fake” traffic tickets (using a mobile phone while driving, and not buckling up).

The children (Faisal and Nayef), and their families expressed their thanks and appreciation to the police leadership for fulfilling their dream, lauding its support for humanitarian initiatives.

It is noteworthy that Abu Dhabi Police GHQ is keen to fulfill the dream of children with special cases, where it granted the wish of three children: Khalifa Al Shehhi, Abdullah Ali Al Ghaferi and Mustafa Al-Badri to become police officers for one day.
