Abu Dhabi Police Air Wing Department acquired the international ISO certificate (9001:2008) for aviation training, granted by the National Quality Assurance, the Premier Management System Registrar. The NQA is one of largest licensed registrars, providing certificates of conformity according to ISO system.
Acquiring the certificate is regarded as a new achievement for Abu Dhabi Police on the path to quality and excellence, as well as a pillar to support organizational performance and effective participation to enhance the confidence of society in the services provided by Abu Dhabi Police.
Brigadier Pilot Ali Mohammed Al Mazroui, Director of Air Wing Department at Abu Dhabi Police, said: “Acquiring the ISO certificate comes in line with the directives of our police commandment about the need to focus our efforts to promote organizational excellence and develop performance, as per the best international practices to achieve the strategic goals of police in aviation training.”
He added: “The strategic plan for Air Wing Department includes training and qualifying pilots as per the international standards, by following constant development procedures. These procedures will raise the level of the pilots’ competence and spirits. Abu Dhabi Police is working on acquiring the ISO certification for aircrafts’ safety and security procedures, in addition to the various departments in future stages.”
For his part, Lt. Colonel Pilot Salim Al Suwaidi, Head of Aviation Training Division at the Air Wing Department said: “Based on the application and use of an integrated training system, we worked diligently to develop the training department and to document and develop the Division’s procedures as per the best practices and in accordance with the standards of international aviation, by applying the international specification (9001:2008), and building an integrated training system capable of developing and that relies on constant operations in accordance with a clear and documented methodology.”
He added: “Acquiring this certificate is an indication to the commitment to the standards of excellence, and an emphasis on the quality of work provided by the Aviation Training Division. The division developed the training program which includes training planning, training follow-up, interactive educational electronic courses, training implementation, in addition to practical training on aircrafts which includes police operations, plus search and rescue courses.”
The ceremony was attended by Major Issa Obeid Al Zaabi, Undersecretary for the Director General of Air Wing Department, Khouram Diaa, Director of Business and Operations at the National Quality Assurance Company.
