The Abu Dhabi Police’s Department of Community Police held a specialized workshop at the Rocco Forte Abu Dhabi Hotel. The workshop covered the development of the department’s work in the upcoming timeframe, with a particular focus on residential areas. The session also assessed its activities and social program for the immediate future.

Lt. Colonel Mubarak Bin Muhairom, Head of the Department of Community Police, said that the workshop focused on a number of topics. “The workshop addressed studying and evaluating work at the Community Police’s sections across different comprehensive police centers in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi; it overviewed the work in progress as well as the future challenges that would require further development on social work. We also discussed ways to upgrade our work techniques to cope with civilized developments across different fields in the country,” he explained.

Event participants discussed the Community Police Department’s guidebook for comprehensive police centers to cope with the latest social developments. They also discussed the link between the guidebook and the ISO certification and ways to achieve a high level of excellence and performance.
 
The workshop also focused on improving communication among community police officers across the comprehensive police centers in order to discuss individual needs in society and set up future-proof plans and strategies. A better means of communication will also allow officers to empower and review social initiatives, interact with other initiatives, review patrol locations, and define tasks and missions for community police branches at the comprehensive centers according to society’s current and future needs.

Bin Muhairom also said: “We discussed ways to empower connections within the local community and build a balanced relationship in the security equation between police forces and the public. We also discussed the best method to spread a comprehensive security culture among community members through community police units. Furthermore, the meeting addressed performance indices in order to improve social satisfaction and trust.”
