Abu Dhabi Traffic and Patrols Directorate, launched on Monday, first initiative of the program titled “No Violations”, aiming at raising the level of traffic awareness in the society to avoid violations and its deadly consequences.
This initiative comes under the program “Together”, which is launched by Abu Dhabi Police during the 28th Gulf Traffic Week celebration pursuant to the Zero Vision adopted by Traffic and Patrols Directorate for year 2030.
The program directors are trying to encourage road users, through “No Violation” initiative, to keep their traffic records clean with no violations, and increase number of people with no violations.
Brigadier Eng. Hussein Ahmad Al Harthi, Director of Traffic and Patrol Directorate in Abu Dhabi Police, reasserted that this initiative comes in line with the new method followed by the department to develop traffic awareness programs that will cover all categories of society.
He said: “The program ‘Together’ that was designed to help curb traffic accidents is an outcome of many years of accumulated experience in matters of traffic safety and responsible dealing with traffic matters. Therefore, we see in this program a distinguished step in strategic planning to deal with traffic accidents problems, especially with the presence of innovative initiatives that aim at spreading awareness in the society.”
This initiative was launched in Marina Mall in Abu Dhabi, at 10 AM. The ceremony was attended by Colonel Khamis Ishaq, Deputy Director of Traffic and Patrol Directorate, accompanied by a delegation representing traffic departments in GCC countries and number of officers. The initiative was launched at the same time in Al Ain's Al Bawadi mall, and Western Region's City mall, whereas number of stands were assigned for participants to register for the competition.
To facilitate registration procedures to the participants, and attract largest number of people, a Facebook page was dedicated to receive applications where participants enter their licensing number and details of their vehicle. This way will guarantee their participation in the competition.
This initiative involves a lot of goals that focus on encouraging drivers to keep their traffic record violations-free through recognizing people who face the challenge of observing safe driving.
