As part of the World Day against Breast Cancer’s events, the Health Education Division at the Medical Services Department in Abu Dhabi Police organized an awareness campaign on the early detection of breast cancer.
This campaign embodies the Abu Dhabi Police’s strategy that aims to communicate with community members and provide the best security, social and medical services.
The campaign included lectures and workshops in Arabic and English, as well as mammography procedures for women over 40 years of age. The campaign also provided answers to all questions and inquiries related to the disease, as well as advice and guidance, explanations on the self-examination procedure and the importance of early detection.

Brigadier Salem Abdullah Saleh Al Junaibi, Director of Medical Services Department in Abu Dhabi Police, stated that the campaign achieved good results, which are consistent with the aspirations of the Department to provide the best medical and counseling services; adding that the lectures given by doctors included a lot of information about the disease and the latest methods of treatment.
For his part, Major Tarek Abdullah Al Junaibi, Director of the Health Education Division, said that the participation in the campaign to combat breast cancer comes in line with the medical services initiatives related to the external communication methodology, and is part of the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters’ strategy which seeks to provide high-quality police services to both citizens and residents.
On another hand, and in collaboration with the Tawam Hospital and Johns Hopkins Medicine, the Al Ain Medical Services Department, of Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, organized an educational lecture at the Al Ain Police Officers’ Club, on the early detection of breast cancer and the risks of having the disease.
Angham Ali Aman, an officer at the Health Education Division at the Medical Services Department, delivered a lecture, emphasizing that the early detection of breast cancer contributes to a full recovery in 98% of the cases, and reduces the side effects of the intensive treatment.
She also urged individuals to benefit from the therapeutic services provided by the State to prevent this disease; pointing out that these services for breast cancer also include annual clinical examination and mammography for women aged 40 years old and above.
