A Qatari delegation views ADP efforts in Securing establishments and events

 

Brigadier Faris Khalifa Al Farsi, Director General of Security Guard and Special Tasks has received at his office a delegation from Qatari Minister of Interior, headed by Lt. Colonel Jasim Mohammad Al Hail, within the framework of exchanged visits between both sides, with a view to exchange expertise in security of establishments and events areas. Also the aim of the visit is to view ADP experiment in securing FIFA Club World Cup activities.

Brigadier Al Farsi has affirmed the importance of exchanging expertise and experiments to develop performance to best global standards. He has indicted that the privatization policy adopted by ADP in many areas including Security Guard has contributed to reduction of costs. In this regard an specialized department in this area has been set up to be responsible for private security companies.

Then he briefed the visiting delegation on the tasks of the Directorate and procedures taken in security guard privatization areas. Privatization process has led to introduction of a company under the name Himaya (Protection), the only company which has been allowed to provide its staff with firearms. He has also briefed them on Events and Playgrounds Protection Law Scheme, which would be issued very soon.

A private security company has been appointed to secure sports establishments in Abu Dhabi, as a pilot scheme where later the project will be implemented in all sports establishments in the country. The company concerned should obtain events security licence from MoI Private Security Business Department, and staff should obtain individual events security licence.. The Security Institute will train and qualify these staff in order to get this individual licence. Sports event or establishment security officer is responsible for training security guards in procedures and security plans to organize and protect stadiums and sports establishments.

Lt. Colonel Jasim Mohammad Al Hail, Head of the Qatari delegation lauded the great cooperation between the two countries in security areas. He said “The aim of our visit is to view the UAE experiments and making use of its experience in organization of major sports activities, including FIFA Club World Cup, in order to enrich their expertise and to be prepared for World Cup, which Qatar will host in 2022.

The delegation comprises Captain Nawaf Al Maabadi, Lt. Mohammad Saeeb Al Khayareen, Lt. Ahmed Nasser Al Malki, Burhan Saleh Al Turki and Mubarak Bilal al Ali.

The meeting was attended by Colonel Rashid Suhail, Director of Special Tasks Department and a number of officers.
