A total number of 300 candidate students, representing the 27th Batch of students, enrolled on Wednesday at the Police College.
The new students were greeted by H.E Colonel Saif Ali Al Kutobi, Police Academy Director, in the presence of Department Directors and a number of officers and supervising trainers.

Al Kutobi emphasized the Police Commandment attention to provide the State with human resources and potentials, and equip them with the latest sciences, theoretical knowledge, training programs and practical applications in order to protect and promote security.

He added that the staff working in the scientific, training and administrative authorities are keen to double the efforts in order to qualify human resources according to the Ministry of Interior’s strategy; and as per our Police leadership’s aspirations, in the aim of graduating qualified officers, capable of contributing to the service of their community, in order to enhance the security and stability process in the country.

Police Academy Director Al Kutobi urged the new candidates to adhere to the systems, regulations and laws of the college; to exert efforts in the next period, and leverage from the training, practical and theoretical expertise that they will receive. He called on them to cooperate with the trainers and obey orders given to them, wishing the students the best of luck in their schooling and training process.

Al Kutobi noted that the College’s curriculum is divided into 9 semesters over a period of four and a half years, starting with an introductory semester followed by 8 studying and training semesters, pointing out that after the first year, students enrolled in the intermediate stage in order to acquire field skills in the various departments and police stations in Abu Dhabi, followed by an educational stage, to acquire police and legal materials.

Moreover Al Kutobi emphasized the importance of full attendance during the study, which allows the student to acquire his Bachelor degree in Police Sciences and Criminal Justice by successfully passing at least 131 credits per semester, spread over police, legal, legislative and assistance courses in addition to the completion of at least 26 practical hours (field), in accordance with the rules and procedures.

He pointed out that the field application includes the following courses: traffic and patrols, central operations, facilities’ protection, special tasks, and police operations.

Finally, Al Kutobi concluded that the application field will be divided into two semesters, spanning over 36 weeks, where the students will receive the most important skills in various fields of police work.
