2nd edition of “Forensic Evidence Magazine” released
The Department of Forensic Evidence at Abu Dhabi Police has issued the 2nd edition of its magazine. The Magazine discusses forensic evidence-related studies and researches.
The edition titled “Environmental Policy of Forensic Evidence Department” highlights the signing of the MOU between ADP and Australian Federal Police, regarding cooperation in forensic evidence-related professional and academic areas, which was witnessed by HH Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
The edition also includes speech by Major General (S) Obeid Al Hiri Al Kitbi, Deputy C-in-C of ADP, stating the importance of science in confronting and preventing all plights such as disasters, wars, diseases poverty and illiteracy.
Colonel Abdul Rahman Al Hamadi, Director of Forensic Evidence, in his article highlights the importance of scientific approach which ADP adopts. Science is the most powerful weapon to control crime and to reduce crime rate.
The magazine contains a number of topics such as Forensic Evidence Department and the Strategy, Risks of frankincense, lie detectors, DNA examination in detecting crimes, DNA database, handwriting evidences and forensic science encyclopedia.
The Magazine tells a story showing how finger prints assisted in solving a mysterious crime. There are other essays about health and safety in forensic science laboratories, Prophet Yusuf “Peace be upon him” shirt and its relationship with forensic evidence, arsenic the lethal poison, domestic gas explosives, killer plants and administrative innovation and excellence.
The Magazine is issued half-yearly and introduces the latest developments in forensic science and educates forensic evidence staff on relevant issues.
