278112 phone calls and 60347 reports received by “police operations” during Ramadan and Eid
The Central Operation Room at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ received a total number of 278112 phone calls and 60347 reports during the holy month of Ramadan and Eid Al Fitr During Ramadan 251904 phone calls were received while 3963 reports were received during Eid.
Colonel Staff Ali Mohammed Al Dhaheri, Director of Operations Department at the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ underlined that employees of the operation room are fully prepared to take phone calls and reports round the clock, and to coordinate with the concerned bodies and deploy human recourses immediately to arrive at the scene as quick as possible.
The operation room at the Abu Dhabi Police has been equipped with the most advanced technology in accordance with the world’s best standards. It has also been manned by highly qualified personnel who are able to deal with emergency cases professionally.
The reports, classified as very important, important and regular according to their significance, included traffic-related reports such as parking blocking, traffic obstructing, broken vehicle, etc. They also included criminal reports such as requesting ambulance, requesting assistance, quarrels and otherwise.
Director of Operations Department called upon the members of the public especially motorists to abide by traffic regulations, mainly in the places which witness huge crowds such as shopping centers.
He noted that once the operation room receives a report, it defines and informs the nearest agencies that must be present at the scene. They promptly respond and move to various locations in a record time, which helped reduce response time.
