A large number of travelers through the Abu Dhabi International Airport expressed their admiration for the traditional exhibition “Abu Dhabi Vision 2012.” The exhibition, held at Terminal 1 in the Abu Dhabi International Airport, was inaugurated by Major General Khalil Dawood Badran, Director General of Finance and Services at the Abu Dhabi Police. The exhibition is held in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC), and will continue until April 30th.

Colonel Saif Saeed Al Shamsi, General Supervisor of the Exhibition said: “The visitors interacted with the event and checked the different exhibits showcased. Through documentary films displayed in English and Arabic, the visitors were given a historical overview of the establishment and development of the Abu Dhabi Police since 1957 to date; as well as the 2007 Golden Jubilee ceremony.”

The visitors praised the good organization and the diversity of the exhibition; as well as the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters’ diligent efforts in highlighting the civilized image of UAE and its traditions, along with the significant development in the police and security field. The visitors stated that this exhibition is a great opportunity to view the values, objectives, mission and vision of the Abu Dhabi Police, and to showcase the rich history of this generous country, its traditions and acknowledged achievements in the different fields of life, especially in the security and police field.

Colonel Al Shamsi added: “The exhibition, which was inaugurated on April 3rd , includes a burgundy Land Rover, ‘the color of deer’s blood,’ a color used when Late Sheikh Zayed became Ruler of Abu Dhabi in 1966. The exhibition also showcases wired and wireless devices, male and female police uniforms, musician and knights costumes, as well as old and new publications issued by the Abu Dhabi Police, 999 Magazine, different posters and pictures depicting the various development phases of the security and police departments in Abu Dhabi over more than half a century. Rare pictures of late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan were displayed, along with a number of national figures, old photos of officers, buildings and training practices.”

Hosting the exhibition at the Abu Dhabi International Airport gives travelers a pleasurable and different experience with each visit. This initiative gives Abu Dhabi visitors the opportunity to learn a part of the UAE history that they have never seen before, and introduces them to the efforts exerted by the Ministry of Interior and the Abu Dhabi Police to change the traditional concept of the police institution, which became a community institution close to the various sectors of society.
