Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior launched the Ministry of the Interior’s website in its new look, according to UAE e-Government standards.
The Undersecretary at the Ministry stressed the keenness to achieve the Government's aspirations to keep pace with the improvement and development process. He also commended the team's efforts to establish a sophisticated methodology to activate the Ministry’s new website, to achieve the objectives using the best practices.
Furthermore, Al Sha’far underscored the need to pursue continuous improvement, to keep pace with the advanced developments the world is witnessing today in this area, as well as to exploit and use new technologies to serve the public.
In addition, he said that launching the Ministry of the Interior’s website in its new look, embodies the Ministry's strategy to achieve safety and security, communicate with the public by dedicating attention to their opinions and answering their queries and proposals. Moreover, he pointed out that the website provides an interactive feature, aimed at achieving maximum communication with citizens and residents; as well as with all segments of society.
The launching ceremony was attended by Major General Khamis Saif bin Suwaif, Director General of Criminal Security; Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director General of Central Operations at the Ministry of Interior; Colonel Hussein Mahmoud Al Awadi, Acting Director of Public Relations Department and the website’s team leader; as well as Lt. Colonel Khalid Nasr Al Tai'e, Director of Electronic Auditing and Information Security at the Electronic Services and Telecommunication Directorate at the Ministry.
For his part, Colonel Hussein Mahmoud Al Awadi explained that the website has been created to reach the highest quality standards. A dedicated specialized team worked to prepare the website to update all data and electronic information, and to come up with the proper ideas to ensure an optimal format.
He also said that the website can be accessed via the link http://www.moi.gov.ae. It contains comprehensive and detailed information about the Ministry of Interior; its overall strategy; the new organizational structure; as well as information on the regulations, laws, news and the training plan. Furthermore, the website contains a special page for (FAQs) Frequently Asked Questions and answers. It is noteworthy that the website provides all read, printed and visual materials related to security, through the Media Center link on the site.
Concluding, he indicated that the website serves as a portal allowing the browser fast and easy access to information, and access to various electronic services provided by the different directorates and departments of the Ministry of Interior. The website also allows receiving complaints and suggestions from the public with respect to the Ministry's services, in an effort to provide better services. Moreover, the site provides links to selected pages from the police departments of the Ministry of Interior directly related to internal and external public, in addition to electronic services for citizens, residents and visitors.
