In conjunction with the final match of H.H UAE President’s Cup, between Al Ahli and Al Shabab teams which will take place on Tuesday, the UAE Football Association released a sports booklet titled “Kulluna Khalifa”, in cooperation with the Law Respect Culture Bureau at the General Secretariat of the Office of His Highness Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior.
Lt. Colonel Dr. Hamoud Saeed Al Afari, Deputy Director of the Law Respect Culture Bureau noted that the issuance of this booklet comes in line with the efforts to activate the recent Memorandum of Understanding signed recently between the Ministry of Interior and the UAE Football Association. The MoU aims to instill the law respect culture among sports fans in the State.
“This booklet is an appeal from the Police Leadership to young athletes, urging them to show ethical cheering in stadiums. This would send a positive message across the nation and reflect the noble image of its generations,” indicated Al Afari.
Furthermore, Lt. Colonel Al Afari noted that the booklet’s legal content focuses on establishing legal standards for sports cheering. “The booklet focuses on delivering legal messages in a simplified manner, which commensurate with the level of consciousness of young people who make up the vast majority of the sports fans community. Those messages target the ethical sides of Emirati youth whose positive behavior reflect the country’s civilized image locally and abroad”, he indicated.
Lt. Colonel Al Junaibi also noted that the messages touch on the legal implications of certain disciplinary offences (such as quarrels) committed by young people within stadiums or outside, and which are contrary to the Emirati society’s values and legislations. He also pointed out that the Bureau’s endeavors to improve football fans’ behavior to ascertain that Emiratis are law-abiding citizens.
For his part, Yusuf Abdullah, Secretary General of the UAE Football Association indicated that the booklet reflects joint cooperation between law and sports, with a view to instill values and ethics. “The Booklet sheds light on local and international football achievements made since the UAE Football Association was founded in 1971. It also highlights the efforts exerted to develop national competencies and to support the women football team; notably the national unity day achievement, when the UAE national team’s proud triumph in the 21st edition of the Gulf Cup of Nations.
Concluding, he stated that the Al Ahli and Al Shabab teams’ fans will enjoy an entertaining dose of culture, which will acquaint them with their favorite football club’s history, its main achievements and victories, as well as statistics on the team members’ total participations in the Cup.
